HOW would you manage a bay like Port Phillip Bay in Victoria, a large area of
water surrounded by a city of 3 million people? Melbourne Water and the CSIRO
have devised The Bay, a game on CD-ROM with 19 environmental challenges to
address over a 10 year period. Dying penguins, an oil spill, freak storms, and
disappearing beaches are just some of the challenges. The Bay is
available for $69.95 from CSIRO Publishing, 150 Oxford St.,
Collingwood, VIC 3066. A teacher’s handbook to go with the game costs
$9.95.
