Gerard M. Verschuuren has written Life Scientists:Their Convictions, Their
Activities, and Their Values (Genesis Publishing, $34.50, ISBN 1 886670 00 5) for
general readers, philosophers and biologists. The aim, fulfilled in 54 short
chapters, is to examine the cat’s cradle of research and its historical, moral,
social and philosophical links.
