A NEWS item in last week’s issue, ‘Scientists ‘penalised’ for EC funding’,
reported that the government had been criticised for withdrawing research
funds from university departments which had been successful in obtaining
research grants from the European Commission in Brussels. In fact, the criticism
quoted referred to the funding of government departments.
