鈥淨UITE simply, there has never been a device like the Galaxy Fold,鈥� said Samsung, unveiling its phone with a folding screen earlier this year. It is unlikely the world鈥檚 biggest phone-maker had in mind pre-release publicity in which reviewers said they accidentally broke the device.
Several people given early access to the phone reported busting the screen after a day鈥檚 use. Some mistakenly peeled off what appeared to be a screen protector but was, in fact, an integral part of the hardware.

The device鈥檚 main feature is that it opens out from a phone-like size to reveal a tablet-sized screen. Now, just days before the device was due to go on sale in the US, Samsung has had to delay its release and hasn鈥檛 yet set a new launch date.
Samsung says the problems could be related to the hinge on the device and will take measures to strengthen the display鈥檚 protection.
Chinese technology firms Huawei and Xiaomi also have folding phones in the works.
