In his hit movie Zelig, Woody Allen edited himself into famous historical
moments. Now people in Britain can do the same—with one of the world’s
smallest camcorders. Its unique six-layer circuit boards are folded up to make
it especially tiny. The camera comes with software that lets you connect to the
www.newsplayer.com archive of a century of digitised news clips. With editing
software called UCreate you can insert your own shots into historical footage.
You can show the finished movie on your PC but copyright restrictions means you
can’t save it. If the scheme is a success in Britain, JVC and Newsplayer will
roll it out around the world.
