Delays in the manufacture of flu vaccine in the US could lead to a shortage
in this year鈥檚 supply, say US health officials. One of the virus strains in this
year鈥檚 vaccine hasn鈥檛 grown as fast as expected in the lab. Two of the four
companies making the US vaccine have hit this problem. The Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention in Atlanta and the Food and Drug Administration are
working with manufacturers to figure out when and how much vaccine will be
available. Officials are confident that enough will be produced to vaccinate
people at highest risk.
