If the spectacle frame patented by Bottega d’Arte of Florence, Italy, works
as its designers claim, it could make everyone who wears glasses very happy.
Most existing frames for glasses use tiny screws to hold the two hinged arms on
the sides, but no matter how tightly the screws are fixed, they sometimes work
loose. The new Italian frame has a wire arm that is pushed through an eyelet,
bent back and secured by a pin (WO 98/45747). Once these parts have been snapped
together, there is nothing that has to be tightened or can loosen off later.
