Diesel emissions may be less harmful than people thought. Robert S盲verin
and his colleagues at the Federal Institute of Occupational 91色情片 and Safety in
Berlin studied 5536 miners in the former East Germany and correlated lung cancer
with exposure to carbon particles from diesel engines.
Previous studies suggested that people exposed to levels of diesel emissions
like those in busy traffic had a 50 per cent greater risk of developing lung
cancer. S盲verin found that 20 years working in pollution levels ten times
those in heavy traffic only doubled the risk of lung cancer.
