The current interest in the Titanic is partly the result of underwater
explorations by Bob Ballard, who found the wreck in 1985
(http://www.jasonproject.org/ballard. html). Some of the artefacts he and
his team recovered from the wreck are on show in Florida, and—appropriately
enough—on board the retired Atlantic liner Queen Mary in California
(http://www.titanic-online.com/home/).
