Attending sports events such as golf tournaments can be frustrating
when the view is blocked by taller spectators. So Sonja Begley and Robert
Moore have filed a British patent application (2 272 146) for a hat that
can see over shoulders. At first sight it looks like an ordinary baseball
cap. But the peak supports a light, folding periscope. When opened up, a
jointed rod holds a mirror above head level, and reflects an image down
to another mirror which folds down from the peak. Anyone who finds their
view blocked just releases the flap on their cap for an elevated view.
